Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress, singer and dancer. Her first appearances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor as well as actress has worked with actors, directors and the stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22nd and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway as a co-star with Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has acted as Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's brand new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national story of a scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters. She was in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No previous to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her character Essie on You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway appearances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she won an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver, now spends time in between Los Angeles & New York.
